Where to purchase uniforms/District Uniform closet

Posted on Jun 4 2010 - 10:45pm

Some parents have asked about how to purchase uniforms and if you are so inclined you can sign on to the BSA on-line store; scoutstuff.org (maybe add your name to the email list) and see all the offerings (same as the physical stores). I do caution that you should try on a pair (sizing) at the Leesburg Hobby Shop, Winchester BSA store, Springfield BSA store, or Bethesda BSA store before you purchase the actual clothing on-line. The BSA stores usually have “buy one get one free” or coupons via the emails. All books, non-rank patches and nifty equipment can also be found here.

Do you have a Survival Kit?

Here's a comprehensive list of things you ought to have in your Survival kit;

Sent by Mark Rodgers on 6/4/10:

Troop,
I wanted to itemize all the Survival Kit materials that we used to varying degrees in the campout. The objective of building these kits was not only to have materials available for this campout, but to test out the materials for suitability on all field events. It is my considered personal opinion that each Scout should have some sort of a Survival Kit on his person every time he ventures away from civilization. I have a small kit (very similar to what our Survivor Scouts had) that goes in my pocket every time I head out into the woods. It’s small enough to fit in a hip or cargo pocket and has everything I need to spend an unplanned night in the boonies.
