Fly Fishing Merit Badge Opportunity

Posted on May 6 2012 - 2:43pm

For those who love the outdoors and would enjoy experiencing the sport of fly fishing first hand don't pass up this opportunity to participate in a one day introduction to fly fishing and merit badge class.  This program will be held near Whitetail Ski resort (about 1 1/2 hrs from Purcellville) at Dusty Wissmith's Fly Fishing School on Sunday June 3rd.  The cost for this program is $50 per scout.  Dusty runs one of the premier Fly Fishing Schools on the East Coast and as an Eagle Scout himself was more than excited to offer a discounted rate for a day long introductory program for our Troop.  Limited to the first 12 scouts who sign up and make payment.  Payments will be collected at next Thursday's troop meeting, May 9th.  Checks should be made out to Troop 961.

New Scout Training Campout

Posted on Apr 26 2012 - 12:52am

Good Evening Troop!

This is just a friendly reminder for everyone to register on the website for the New Scout Campout this weekend!  We are assuming that every New Scout will be camping this weekend, but we really need the Staff members and adults to register, so we have a firm idea of who is teaching what!

Directions to the site in Neersville (*Not* the Blue Ridge Environmental Center)  will be available at the meeting Thursday. I'll also email out directions after the meeting.
